The San Diego Cal Alumni Club hosted the 2026 Summer Welcome Party on Saturday July 18, 2026

A huge thank you to Helen Barker, Cal Alumni for hosting the annual event at her home in Carlsbad.

Over 160 incoming students, current students, alumni and guests attended the event from San Diego County

San Diego Cal alumni can make a tangible impact for future Cal leaders by reading and scoring undergraduate scholarship applications and interviewing incoming Cal students for the Leadership Award (TLA).   Scholarship readings are done online and interviews are conducted virtually.

Established in 1934, the Leadership Award (TLA) offers a multi-year scholarship. It supports visionary, innovative, and inspiring leaders who make a positive impact on their communities.

San Diego Cal Alumni celebrated the Golden Bears 24-21 come from behind win over Stanford in the 127th Big Game.  This win makes it four wins in row and the Golden Bears became bowl eligible. The watch party was held at Chief’s Burger and Brew in Solana Beach, CA.

Cal alumni can give back by volunteering to interview incoming students from the San Diego area for the 2024 CAA Leadership Awards. Interviews will be done virtually via Zoom.  No previous experience required.
